There’s more to Schloss Schönbrunn than just the (very beautiful) castle; the park around Schloss Schönbrunn is a great little oasis in an otherwise busy city. It’s perfect for long walks or a little jog.
St. Stephen's Cathedral, in the center of the Innere Stadt, the Old Town, is a prime attraction in Vienna. It was here that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Constanze were married in 1782. After Mozart moved here from Salzburg in 1781,at the age of 25, they lived in twelve apartments in this 1st district of Vienna during the ten short years before his death.
Statues, plaques and innumerable souvenir shops throughout the city celebrate Mozart and other resident musicians, including Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Anton Bruckner, Franz Schubert, Antonio Vivaldi, Franz Liszt, Gustav Mahler, Arnold Schoenberg, Hugo Wolf and the Strausses, Johann senior and junior and the unrelated Richard.

The Donaukanal was the original channel of the Danube as it flowed past the old city and formed the waterfront of the city at that time. It now separates the old city center from newer residential and commercial areas to the east. The banks of the canal are maintained as promenades, parks, playgrounds and gardens.
